No. 17 Spokeshave
No. 17 Spokeshave
Length 8-7/8” Iron Width is 1-3/4”
In Thomas Lamond book “Manufactured and Patented Spokeshaves & Similar Tools”, he has a paragraph where it is believed a lower quality spokeshave was offered by Millers Falls sometime after WWII. At the time the book was published, no shaves have been observed with any markings to validate the theory. No advertisements have been seen to substantiate the claim either. The spokeshave is marked with a “NO. 17” under one handle, and “MADE IN U.S.A.” under the other handle.
This model is an exact copy of the Stanley No. 64. The undocumented No. 17 spokeshave is listed here for you to continue the investigation.
