No. 3
The No. 3 is configured with a thumb screw operated lever cap, a raised circular depressed finger knob and a squirrel tail that fits in the palm of your hand. Nether the name or number are stamped on the body so, the only way to identify the Millers Falls manufacturer is the trademark on the iron. The plane has a fixed mouth and a 45 degree bevel down configuration.
Configuration over time
1929 - Initial release had the lever cap painted red with black enamel cheeks and bed.
1929 - “Since 1868” iron trademark (see irons for more details)
1935 - Lever cap is changed to black.

The No. 3 was in production for fifteen years ending in 1944.

Initial release with the red lever cap on the left. The plane on the right has the plant location of Millers Falls Mass on the iron.

The iron adjustment on the Millers Falls No. 3 is manual.
