No. 206
The No. 206 was designed to take more abuse than the traditional cast iron block plane. The body, lever cap and frog are all made from pressed steel. the frog is spot welded to the body. The bed and inside cheeks are enameled black. The lever cap, outside cheeks and sole have a polished finish. The knob, lever cap screw, depth adjusting nut and depth adjusting lever are nickel plated. The cheeks have finger grip holes giving the user a secure grip on the plane. The name and number are stamped on the cheek.
The only change to this plane was the trademark on the iron. The “SINCE 1868” trademark can be found between 1940 to 1948. The “SOLID TOOL STEEL” trademark will date the plane between 1949 to 1959.
